Analysis and Experimentations on Ecosystems

AnaEE France offers the scientific community, companies and civil society organisations full access to the study of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems through its experimental platforms distributed throughout mainland France and the French overseas territories.
It also supports your projects by offering analyses on its analytical platforms and modelling pipelines.

Enclosed experimentation

AnaEE-France offers the possibility of studying aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems in controlled environments. Two Ecotrons and six experimental platforms are thus made available to scientists, for studies in artificial environments or in situ in a controlled manner:

In natura experimentation

It allows in situ monitoring, often over the long term, of different types of ecosystems, in order to measure in particular their evolution in the face of climate change, under different conditions (environmental and pedoclimatic conditions, operating conditions, etc.). The four main families of ecosystems studied within the framework of AnaEE-France are:

agrosystems (permanent and temporary grasslands, field crops),
forest ecosystems including temperate and continental forests, Mediterranean forests and tropical forests and plantations,
lake ecosystems.

Mobile instrumentation

The “mobile laboratories” allow measurements to be taken directly in the field and to overcome the constraints of transport and packaging. They allow:

to ecologically characterize terrestrial ecosystems, in particular via targeted measurement campaigns on gas flow sites in spectroscopy or spectrometry with, for certain devices such as the PTRMS, a measurement of the instantaneous flows of volatile organic components.
to take samples and carry out initial analyses in biogeochemistry, biochemistry or molecular biology.

Analytical platforms

In addition to its experimentation platforms, AnaEE-France provides scientists with a series of analytical tools:

three environmental genomics platforms (eDNA, EcogenO and GenoSol);
an enzymatic analysis laboratory (BioChem-Env).
but also tools distributed in the experimental platforms dedicated to environmental isotopy, biogeochemistry of soils and lake environments, and biological analysis.

Information systems

AnaEE France provides access to information and data modelling systems for the use of the results obtained on the various platforms of the infrastructure:

an information system for the management of projects, platforms and associated metadata which also serves as a catalogue,
an information system for the management of long-term experimental data,
a semantic repository and data annotation pipelines for data sharing and reuse in a FAIR logic.
