A few weeks ago, Philippe Mauguin, Chairman and CEO of INRAE, visited XYLOSYLVE, an AnaEE France facility, following the wildfires that devastated a large part of the experimental site.
The visit provided an opportunity to assess the extent of the damage in the field and to discuss with the teams both the consequences of the fire for the facility and the new research opportunities associated with monitoring the forest ecosystem after the fire.
A soil sampling campaign is currently underway at XYLOSYLVE. Its aim is to document soil conditions following the wildfire and to collect data and samples that will support research into the effects of fire and the evolution of the site over the coming years.
This context opens up new opportunities for research and collaboration on post-fire dynamics. Research teams interested in these topics and wishing to work at XYLOSYLVE can find further information about the facility and its research opportunities on the AnaEE France website.
