FORESTT International Conference 2027: call for abstracts now open

The FORESTT International Conference – “FORESTs and Global Environmental Changes: Social-Ecological Systems in Transition” will take place in Metz, France, from 5 to 7 October 2027.

Organised by the French research programme FORESTT, coordinated by INRAE and held under the auspices of IUFRO, the conference will bring together scientists, early-career researchers, doctoral students, forestry professionals and policy experts to discuss the resilience of forest social-ecological systems in the face of global environmental change.

The call for abstracts is now open for oral and poster presentations. Contributions may cover original research, emerging results, methodological developments, synthesis studies, case studies and innovative applications.

The conference programme is structured around 31 symposia grouped into six thematic areas:

  • Forest ecological and evolutionary processes
  • Biotic interactions and forest health
  • Monitoring, modelling and data integration
  • Forest management, disturbances and adaptation
  • Social-ecological systems, governance and bioeconomy
  • Science, policy and education

Particular attention is given to contributions from early-career researchers and doctoral students, as well as interdisciplinary work addressing the ecological, social, economic, technological and governance dimensions of forest resilience.
