Agroforestry
Introduction
Agroforestry facilities within AnaEE-France bring together long-term experimental systems dedicated to the study of agroecosystems combining trees and crops, with a focus on agroecological transition and climate change adaptation.
These facilities enable the analysis, under real field conditions, of the interactions between tree and crop components, and the assessment of their effects on:
- biogeochemical cycles (carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, water),
- above- and below-ground biodiversity,
- agroecosystem productivity and resilience,
- ecosystem services.
Agroforestry systems represent a major lever to address contemporary challenges related to carbon sequestration, water regulation, biological diversification, and reduction of external inputs.
