Coffee-Flux is the name of the experimental platform aiming to assess ecosystem services (ES) of carbon, nutrients, water and sediments at the scale of a coffee agroforestry watershed. Observation, experimentation, modelling and remote sensing are combined to collect data and calibrate models locally and then scale up. The project has been operating continuously since 2009 to take into account seasonal and interannual fluctuations in coffee productivity and ecosystem services.
The site provides the following services to scientists:
- An in situ ecosystem experimentation service;
- Instrumentation for the long-term monitoring of these ecosystems and the in situ measurement of environmental parameters;
- Devices and tools for collecting samples and data on the ecosystems studied.
